The primary goal of the MA Nursing program is to prepare qualified nurses for clinical specialization and leadership in any of the following major fields: Adult Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Maternal and Child Nursing, Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, Nursing Administration, and School Health Nursing. This can be attained through:
  1. Increased competence in a major field in nursing;
  2. Increased understanding of theories, research principles, methodologies and their applications, and utilization of research findings to develop and improve nursing practice;
  3. Critical thinking about current problems and issues affecting the nursing profession and the health care delivery system;
  4. Broader understanding of a related discipline as a further base for specialization in nursing;
  5. Innovative measures in the delivery of health care services; and
  6. Independent nursing practice
